Why you’ll love having laminate flooring
Laminate is one of the world's most popular floor types. Perfect for areas of heavy use and so easy to take care of, decent laminate flooring can add character, warmth, and depth to any room without splashing out on solid wood flooring (which we also stock). Most of our laminate has a very simple click-locking system, and comes in some amazing style - just take a look at our herringbone laminate & unique tile-effect laminate flooring.
A low-maintenance option for any home
Our wood laminate flooring range can soon see your home kitted out from top to bottom, catering to anyone looking to lay laminate down over concrete or timber. With laminate being harder to scratch than other wood floor types it is great for family homes in spaces like your living room, kitchen, hallway (ideal for homes where shoes & sports kit are left in the hall) & bathroom.
We also recommend higher-grade/wear laminates for high traffic areas. You'll notice most of our laminate options have 4-star and 5-star wear ratings & are a breeze to clean - no need for any expensive floor cleaners.
Knowing why floor thickness matters
Don’t overlook plank thickness when picking laminate flooring. Most of our range will feature laminate that is 6mm-12mm thick. The increase in size will account for the price and how dense your flooring becomes. You would tend to lean towards higher numbers the busier the area will be & if the flooring has imperfections underneath.
For example, it is more common to find 10mm+ flooring in your downstairs (over concrete) and 6mm-8mm upstairs.
How much should laminate flooring cost?
Laminate flooring can cost under €11 per m2 or as much as €40 per m2. For example, if you were shopping a budget option like EGGER North cape oak (usually €11 per m2), it could cost €120-130 to buy enough to cover 10m2. A more premium option like BerryAlloc Hydro+ or EGGER Aqua+, which average around €25-26 pm2 would cost €300-315 to cover 10m2.
A lot of factors determine the cost, including wearability grade and water resistance. Remember, we have a price calculator on very page to help you work within your budget.
Laminate flooring for commercial spaces
We also have a lot of business customers who would need commercial laminate flooring for their cafes, salons, shops and more. We recommend looking at commercial laminate if you work somewhere that sees plenty of footfall or stock & shelves being moved around.
Making it easier to install new flooring
Within every laminate product page, you'll find helpful information on the installation type (whether its a bevel or v edge). Some will also have videos to show how it connects so you can avoid the common mistakes in laying laminate down
