Product Details
Hevea Browny dark wood flooring (rubberwood), is thought to be one of the highest-rated wood types for flooring. Importantly, it is very environmentally friendly. The rubberwood tree is only cut down for lumber after its primary use, as a plantation tree for rubber. The plantation is then grown again for the future harvest.
Our dark Hevea Rubberwood has been stained for a rich natural finish. It can be recolored and refinished multiple times if desired. Rubberwood is also proven to be hard-wearing and is therefore ideal for a long-lasting solid wood floor. However, be careful not to confuse hard-wearing with scratch-proof. All solid wood floors including Hevea can mark and scratch over time. They require protection. Read our solid wood flooring maintenance guide, to find out more. When properly cared for a hevea wood floor will last for a very long time.
Each plank is solid hevea wood, in a 4 strip plank with T&G edges. The solid wood is 13mm thick with 7 coats of UV lacquer to protect and enhance the finish.
Another fantastic property of our dark hevea floor is stability in various humidity and heat levels. After kiln drying, this wood moves less than most other wood types, but expansion is still needed. Ensure that you check out our guide to installing solid wood flooring, before laying your floor.
