When choosing laminate underlay or engineered flooring underlays, it is very important not to compromise on quality. Often a basic underlay is will perform just fine, but there are many benefits to using insulating and leveling underlays with your wood floor. 

Do You need underlay for Laminate flooring or Engineered flooring? The short answer is yes. Definitely. Wood and laminate flooring underlays are essential to reduce noise, protect the joints and for your warranty. Some underlays will also provide a moisture barrier protection which is essential on all concrete sub-floors. Some will provide extra heat and sound insulations while others are great leveling underlays such as Fibreboard and Timbertech.
